Amiens

Chroma is a monumental sound and light show projected onto the west facade of Amiens Cathedral. Produced by Spectre Lab for Amiens Metropole, it turns the stone of the cathedral into a vast animated screen every evening of its run.

The programme runs in seasons. The 2026 summer season played nightly from July 11 to September 12, with an extra evening on September 19 for the European Heritage Days. The next season is announced for December 2026, with a 19:00 start every night throughout the month; the exact dates have not yet been published.

Each evening follows the same pattern: a 20-minute animated sequence projected onto the facade, followed by about 30 minutes of polychromy illumination in which the cathedral glows with colour.

You watch from the Parvis Notre-Dame, the square in front of the cathedral, so arrive a little early to find a good spot. The whole sequence lasts about fifty minutes, easy to fit into an evening in the centre of Amiens.
