Tutankhamun: The Tomb, the Treasure, the Curse (Tutankhamon: La tomba, il tesoro, la maledizione) brings the tomb of Tutankhamun to Palazzo Belloni in Bologna. Presented by STORICALAB, the immersive exhibition displays official replicas of the tomb treasure certified by the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities, staged with scenographic reconstructions and immersive technology.
The visit follows the three elements named in the title: the tomb, the treasure and the curse. An optional VR experience lets visitors virtually break through the sealed wall of the burial chamber, and the opening day features a lectio magistralis by Egyptologist Zahi Hawass.
The route develops through scenographic reconstructions, where the certified replicas of the tomb treasure take centre stage. Immersive technology shapes the atmosphere of each section and accompanies visitors from the tomb to the treasure and on to the curse.
The optional VR experience adds a highlight of its own: with it, visitors virtually break through the sealed wall of the burial chamber. The sequence lasts about 15 minutes, costs 8 EUR on top of the entrance ticket and is purchased directly at the box office.
- The exhibition runs from 3 October 2026 to 2 May 2027 at Palazzo Belloni, Via de' Gombruti 13, Bologna, open daily from 10:00 to 19:00 with last entry at 18:00 (closed on 25 December).
- Admission is 16 EUR full price, 13 EUR reduced and 5 EUR for disabled visitors; children up to 5 enter free and family packs (39, 52 or 65 EUR) are sold at the venue.
- The VR experience costs an extra 8 EUR, lasts about 15 minutes and is bought at the box office.
