Ars Electronica Festival 2027

The Ars Electronica Festival 2027 takes place in Linz from September 8 to 12, 2027. The organizer has confirmed the next edition of its annual festival for art, technology and society on the official festival site.

Much is still open: the annual theme for 2027 will be announced in spring 2027, and online ticket sales start in July 2027. Prices and the final list of venues are not published yet. For orientation, the 2026 edition, Negotiating Humanity, took place in three hubs in the city center and has ended.

The festival turns the whole city into its stage: venues are spread across Linz and change from year to year. In 2026 the action was concentrated in three hubs in the city center; whether that pattern repeats in 2027 will only be clear once the final venue list is out.

Each edition is built around an annual theme that gives the program its direction. For 2027 that theme is not set yet: it will be announced in spring 2027. What is certain is the frame the festival has confirmed: five days in September 2027 dedicated in Linz to the meeting of art, technology and society.
