Paris

Planète Océan, Immersion vers les profondeurs is the new flagship programme at the Atelier des Lumières in Paris. From 16 October 2026, the venue in the 11th arrondissement becomes a 360-degree underwater journey: roughly 50 minutes in which 3D modelling, ultra high definition projection and light and smoke effects bring the depths of the ocean into the hall. The programme was designed with the oceanographers Lisa Brenot and Maé Dany-Fort.

Unlike the venue's other shows, Planète Océan has its own dedicated microsite with separate ticketing, operated together with Fever. It opens on 16 October 2026 with no announced end date. The Atelier des Lumières already has a permanent entry in our database as a venue, and this listing covers the event itself.

The visit is one continuous descent. For about 50 minutes, the 360-degree projection turns the hall into an ocean that surrounds you on all sides, following the movement towards the depths announced by the title. The images are built from 3D modelling and shown in ultra high definition, while light and smoke effects carry the scene beyond the projected image and into the room itself.

Because the programme was designed with the oceanographers Lisa Brenot and Maé Dany-Fort, the journey rests on a scientific foundation rather than a loose sequence of underwater imagery. There is no screen to watch from a distance: the projection surrounds the space in every direction, so the descent towards the depths is something you stand inside, not something you observe from the side.
