Carl-Zeiss-Planetarium Stuttgart
02 · About the exhibition
Stuttgart
The Carl-Zeiss-Planetarium stands in the Mittlerer Schlossgarten park near the Staatstheater, at Willy-Brandt-Str. 25 in Stuttgart. Run by the city, it fills its dome with a rolling program of ticketed fulldome shows and turns a park setting into a doorway to the night sky.
The program does not stop at astronomy. The dome concerts include formats built around Pink Floyd and Queen, and Tunesday brings live electronic music under star and laser projections. Every show also carries an English audio simulcast, so visitors without German can follow each performance in full.
The visit itself is stripped to the essential: you take your seat, the lights go down, and the projection stretches across the whole dome until the room becomes a night sky. The astronomy shows play out on that sky, while the music formats work with image and sound as star fields and laser lines travel overhead.
The logistics stay simple: tickets cost 6 to 10 euros in the online shop, doors open one hour before the first show, and the English simulcast runs on every performance. Anyone coming for the music has a fixed anchor in Tunesday, the live set beneath moving star and laser projections.
- Open Tuesday to Sunday, doors one hour before the first show; closed on Mondays and holidays, with a midday closure Tuesday to Friday from 12:30 to 14:00.
- Regular shows cost 6 euros in the morning (until 12:00) and 10 euros in the afternoon and evening, reduced 6 euros; music and laser shows and Tunesday cost 10 euros with no concessions, tickets are sold in the online shop.
- For budget-related measures the planetarium closes from 9 November to 7 December 2026 and reopens on 8 December 2026.
