Miguel Chevalier: Digital by Nature
02 · About the exhibition
Zwolle
Miguel Chevalier, the French pioneer of digital art, is getting his largest solo exhibition in Europe to date: Digital by Nature at Museum de Fundatie in Zwolle gathers around 120 works tracing a career from early computer art to AI-assisted pieces such as Meta-Nature AI (2023).
The exhibition was initiated by Kunsthalle München in collaboration with Museum de Fundatie and runs from 3 October 2026 to 4 April 2027, with an opening event on 2 October.
In the galleries, generative installations respond to the presence of visitors, set to music by Jacopo Baboni Schilingi. A robot draws live on site.
The route follows his path from the first computer-generated works to recent pieces in which artificial intelligence enters the creative process. Meta-Nature AI (2023) is one of the works that mark that new phase.
