Der Fernseher als Galerie. Das Archiv Gerry Schum und Ursula Wevers

About the exhibition
KarlsruheDer Fernseher als Galerie is devoted to the archive of Gerry Schum and Ursula Wevers, who made art for television from the late 1960s onwards.
The exhibition has been running at the ZKM since the end of May 2026, according to the official page until 10 January 2027.
This is the origin story of media art, in the room: artists such as Gilbert & George made works directly for the screen, and the television set itself became the gallery.
For anyone who watches immersive shows and wonders where it all began: this exhibition is one of the roots.
