Kunstkraftwerk Leipzig
About the exhibition
LeipzigThe Kunstkraftwerk in Leipzig-Plagwitz is Germany's first museum for digital and multimedia art. It lives inside a former heating plant whose industrial rooms have become projection surfaces for 360 degree experiences.
Rotating immersive exhibitions and a permanent show run side by side, booked in time slots through the in-house ticket shop.
You step into dark industrial rooms where projection, sound and spatial architecture merge into a single surrounding image. The productions are developed in-house and composed for the spaces of the heating plant, not simply dropped into them.
A visit takes about an hour depending on the show; the house is open Thursday to Sunday and closed Monday to Wednesday.
