Wu Tsang: La montaña invertida
02 · About the exhibition
Zürich
La montaña invertida is a sound installation by Wu Tsang, created with dramaturge Enrique Fuenteblanca during a residency at Klanghaus Toggenburg. The work fills the dome hall of the Moser Building at the Kunsthaus Zürich as part of the ReCollect! series, which brings works from the collection together with flamenco, noise and contemporary composition.
Sound, not image, is the medium: the installation becomes a space you move through with your ears. From spring 2026 the project also extends into the print room, with a focus on identity, memory and the myth of Carmen, curated by Raphael Gygax.
The dome hall works on the body first: sound travels along the curved architecture and turns the room itself into an instrument. Listening becomes a physical experience, shaped by the scale of the space.
It is worth taking your time and letting the compositions unfold around you. In the print room, the eye returns to images, with works on identity, memory and the myth of Carmen.
