transmediale - festival for art and digital culture
Trailer · ALEX Berlin About the exhibition
Berlintransmediale is Berlin's annual festival and year-round institution for art and digital culture: exhibition, conference and performances at the intersection of technology, society and aesthetics.
The 2026 edition ran 28 January to 1 February at silent green and CANK; the next edition is expected in winter 2027, dates to be announced.
transmediale thinks digital culture critically: instead of immersive entertainment the focus is discourse, artistic research and experimental formats. The exhibition runs alongside talks and performances; the audience is as much part of the format as the works.
For the context of this directory, transmediale is the intellectual foil: the themes debated here are sold elsewhere as experiences.
