Kerkrade

Ai: de expo (AI: the expo) is the interactive exhibition on artificial intelligence at the Discovery Museum in Kerkrade, in the far south of the Netherlands close to the German border. Instead of explaining the technology behind glass, it invites visitors to try it out for themselves and see both what AI can do and where it reaches its limits.

The exhibition pairs playful hands-on stations with the harder questions that come with the technology: deepfakes, algorithmic discrimination and the energy and water use of AI all get a place, alongside the AI Dilemma Show. The museum lists the exhibition as visitable through 25 October 2026.

The hands-on side rewards experimenting. In the AI Kunstgalerij you can print your own AI artwork, you prompt a silent disco and a fly-through landscape, and a robot arm takes on anyone at rock paper scissors. The humanoid robot Ami rounds off the line-up of machines you meet face to face.

The other side slows things down. The exhibition addresses deepfakes, algorithmic discrimination and how much energy and water AI uses, and the AI Dilemma Show brings the resulting questions straight to the audience.
