Asterix and Obelix are coming to Hamburg: from 3 October 2026, the Port des Lumières, Culturespaces' digital and immersive art center in the Westfield Hamburg Überseequartier in HafenCity, presents 'Asterix & Obelix: An Immersive Adventure', a new immersive 360 degree projection show. The show is based on the comics by Goscinny and Uderzo and runs without an announced end date.
The story is a rescue mission: Asterix and Obelix set out to free their druid from Caesar. The show takes visitors along on that journey, from Gaul to Spain, Britain, Egypt and India, projected across some 1,700 square meters with spatial sound.
The action unfolds around the audience: projections cover the space on all sides while the spatial sound follows the story from one stage of the journey to the next. A showing lasts about 45 minutes, and the FAQ puts the average at around 50 minutes.
The scenery changes constantly, which keeps the story easy to follow, including for visitors who do not know every album. Recommended from age 5 and wheelchair accessible, the show works for a family outing as well as for readers who grew up with the series.
- The Port des Lumières is located in the Westfield Hamburg Überseequartier in HafenCity, at Platz am 10. Längengrad 1, 20457 Hamburg.
