Port des Lumières - Digital & Immersive Art Center
Trailer · Port des Lumieres About the exhibition
HamburgPort des Lumières is Hamburg's first permanent centre for digital and immersive art, opened in the HafenCity district with more than 1,700 square metres of projection surface. The venue stages rotating 360-degree shows in which the entire shell of the room becomes the canvas.
The concept belongs to the family of Culturespaces venues, which also includes the Ateliers des Lumières in Paris and Phoenix des Lumières in Dortmund.
The hall is a converted industrial space where walls, columns and floor are covered edge to edge. You stand inside the image while soundtrack and choreography weave the works into a continuous loop. Several shows run in parallel, so check the programme before picking a time slot.
Currently on the programme: Gustav Klimt, the ocean show Ocean Wonders and, from 29 August 2026, Claude Monet, each with its own page in this directory.
