About the exhibition
HamburgVRHAM! is Hamburg's biennale for virtual reality, digital and immersive art in the Oberhafen quarter. As a festival it gathers VR works, installations and performances in a place that is itself a laboratory of interim use.
The last edition ran 11 to 18 June 2025; as a biennale, the next round is expected in 2027, with no official dates yet.
A festival visit differs from an exhibition: works run in time windows, VR stations need slots, and part of the experience is the audience moving between warehouse floors and makeshift theatres.
For anyone tracking where immersive art is heading, VRHAM! is the northern German weather report: small, experimental, closer to studios than to visitor centres.
