The best immersive and AI exhibitions in Madrid

Madrid has turned itself into the immersive capital of southern Europe in just a few years. No other Spanish city is searched more often together with "exposiciones inmersivas", and the programme justifies the query: two dedicated centres for immersive art, a bargain-priced planetarium and a foundation that makes digital culture free for everyone.

Madrid Artes Digitales: the immersive home

The centre of the scene is Madrid Artes Digitales, a basement full of projections near the Manzanares river. Currently running is Klimt, la Experiencia Inmersiva, the immersive journey through golden Vienna. From 18 September 2026 La Odisea, El Viaje Inmersivo joins, an adaptation of Homer's Odyssey in 360 degrees. The opening date comes from the venue's official announcement.

Prices and times

Tickets for the running shows sit between 14.90 and 24.90 euros, with afternoon and evening time slots. The centre is located at Paseo de la Ermita del Santo, reachable by metro (Marqués de la Valdavia, or Príncipe Pío plus bus).

Balloon Museum and the Nomad scene

Slightly north, the Balloon Museum has its European branch with "Euphoria": inflated, luminous installations and rooms you move through rather than sit in. The Madrid edition ends on 6 September 2026, so now or never. Add the impermanent scene around the Nomad Museo, working with immersive retrospectives of the classics, currently La Triada Inmortal (until 31 August) and the immersive Frida Kahlo show Frida Kahlo by Woman Experiences (since March).

Free of charge: Fundación Telefónica

A gift for anyone who wants digital culture without a ticket budget: the Fundación Telefónica shows with "Revolución Cuántica" (until 11 October 2026) one of Europe's best free exhibitions on quantum physics and its cultural consequences, complemented by Ventanas al futuro on the future of artificial intelligence. Free entry with reservation.

Planetarium and festivals

The Planetario de Madrid in the Casa de Campo is, at 1.65 to 3.60 euros, the cheapest dome experience on this list. If you are in town in September, keep an eye on the LEV Festival at Matadero (17 to 20 September), joining audiovisual art, electronic music and AI audio in one of Madrid's most exciting industrial ruins. Practical tips

Madrid's immersive centres are scattered, but the metro connects everything in under 40 minutes. Combine Fundación Telefónica (Gran Vía) with an evening at Madrid Artes Digitales.
