Volver a mirar (Rosa Muñoz)
02 · About the exhibition
Madrid
Volver a mirar is a large format video installation by photographer and visual artist Rosa Muñoz, projected onto the historic elevated water tower of Canal de Isabel II near Plaza de Castilla in Madrid. The work fragments and reconstructs the architecture of the tower, turning the building itself into the surface of its own moving image.
Fundación Canal presents the installation to mark the 175th anniversary of Canal de Isabel II and the 25th anniversary of the foundation. The tower, normally closed, opens to visitors for the occasion, and admission is free with no booking required.
The tower itself becomes the screen. The projection takes the architecture of the building apart and reassembles it at large scale, so that the structure in front of you keeps dissolving and returning as a new image.
The setting is part of the experience: an industrial structure that is normally closed welcomes visitors for this intervention. The venue stands at C/ Mateo Inurria 2, near Plaza de Castilla, and with free admission you can walk in at any point during opening hours.
- Admission is free and no booking is needed.
- Opening hours: weekdays and holidays 11:00-20:00, Wednesdays 11:00-15:00.
- The installation is on view at C/ Mateo Inurria 2, Madrid, until October 25, 2026.
