Gustav Klimt: Gold in Motion (Port des Lumières)
About the exhibition
HamburgGustav Klimt: Gold in Motion is the long-running immersive show at Port des Lumières Hamburg, on stage since 20 June 2026. The entire hall turns into a golden, moving version of the painter's universe.
Gustav Klimt, the leading figure of the Vienna Secession, is the very definition of golden Art Nouveau: The Kiss, Judith, the world of the Beethoven Frieze. The show sets these icons in motion and lets the gold Klimt is famous for flow across the walls.
The projection follows Klimt's career from the historicist beginnings through the golden decade to the late landscapes of Lake Attersee. According to the ticketing, the programme is enriched with elements dedicated to Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Klimt's Austrian heir in colour, ornament and architectural fantasy.
A good first contact with immersive art: a classic format built around widely known works.
